I became a trainer because I have had my own health struggles.

From being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 21, to being anorexic and screwing up my metabolism and thyroid, to suffering from anxiety.

It is not fun to feel like you have no hope and you want to give up.

But after years of trial and error I have come up with ways to help. Realizing each program should be different, because we are all different.

I have helped clients overcome struggles gain confidence, get leaner and stronger without crazy workouts or restriction.

“After completion of my initial body composition scan at “Stat Wellness”, I was determined to lose 10 pounds of body fat and gain 8 pounds of lean muscle.  I reached out to Candice to develop a custom 12 week program to help me reach my goals.  During our discussion, we decided to formulate a stretch goal to lose an additional 5 pounds of body fat to get back to the body I had 13 years ago when I was my fittest.

 Candice developed a 2 phase program for the 12 week period.  The first phase (4 weeks) focused on muscular endurance while the second phase (8 weeks) helped me transition to muscular strength.  For each week, Candice individualized 6 workouts that concentrated on certain areas such as full body, resistance training and activation, or cardio.  Individual exercises are linked to youtube videos so I was able to easily see the movement and perform each workout.  If I had questions or concerns with any of the exercises, I was able to contact Candice for further instruction.  She was always timely with her responses.  In lieu of the 2 cardio workouts provided weekly, we agreed that I should continue to engage with my “Couch to 10k” app, and use what she prescribed as a backup, if needed.  And of course, she included a rest/self-care day at the end of the week. 

 I’m not going to lie to you and say the workouts she provided weren’t tough. I was sweating after completing each one, but I will promise you I left the gym feeling good about my performance and the transformation I was seeing.

 In addition to the 12 week program, Candice also suggested food and supplements that would help me achieve my goals.  She volunteered to monitor a food and water log to hold me accountable and let me know when I needed to eat more or less of a certain food.  For example, snacks that I was considering healthy had more sugar than I realized; Candice pointed this out and I was able to cut down in this area.

 Now that I’ve officially finished my 12 week program with Candice and have completed my follow-up body composition scan at “Stat Wellness”, I can share with you my good news:  I EXCEEDED MY BODY FAT LOSS GOALS and am super close to my gain in lean muscle goal!  In total, I have lost over 10 pounds of body fat and gained almost 6 pounds of lean muscle; my visceral fat level went from 7 to 5!  I wouldn’t have reached my goals if it weren’t for Candice’s individualized programming, her direction and advice, and the accountability she provided.  Candice is a strong, thorough, and astute trainer and she has made this difficult transition fun and exciting!  THANKS CANDICE!!!!”

To do the workouts, I am using items I already have at home (like 5-20 lb weights and loop bands).
